Due to a dramatic change in the weather forecast for tomorrow, we will not be riding our scheduled ride on Saturday, Feb. 11th. Instead, we will be going to our Plan B. We will meet at noon at Chilis on Main St. In our 4 wheelers for lunch. After lunch, those that wish to, can follow me over to the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville. Admission is $10. Lunch will be an official sanctioned STAR376 event. Hope to see everyone there. Mike Vangilder

Just a reminder about our ride this weekend Feb 11th to Col. Poole's BBQ and Hotrods and Harleys in Ellijay. We will be meeting at McDonald's on Main St at 10:00am and will return to Chevron on Hwy 20 and I-75 about 3:30. Total miles for the ride is about 110 and there are no scheduled fuel stops, so please make sure you start off with a full tank. You can check out more information about Col. Poole's BBQ at http://www.poolesbarbq.com/ If you've never been, there you are in for a real treat. We will also be stopping by Hotrods and Harleys. The staff there is always very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for tires, service, accessories or custom work including paint, they can do it all for Harleys as well as metric bikes. You can check them out at http://www.hellonorthgeorgia.com/BoatAndMotorsports/HotrodsNHarleys.html The weather for Saturday looks like it will start off a little cool but warm up to the 50's in the afternoon. The STAR Chapter #421 out of Lawrenceville will be having a Feed The Children Distribution Event on Saturday, Feb 25th at 8:00am in Cornelia, GA. In order for our group to be there in time for this, we would have to leave Cartersville by 5:30am. It has been suggested that we make this an overnight trip. We could meet and ride up Friday night after work and/or meet somewhere in that area on Saturday morning. Chapter #421 has been very supportive of our Feed The Children efforts and I would like for us to return that support. Hi ya'll. 2011 was such a busy year for Vicki and me that we hardly did any riding at all. Didn't renew with Star Riders this year because we finally got our Tennessee property and plan to move in a few years. Miss riding with ya'll, but it appears that our free time is going to be spent building our new home over the next 4 years. Maybe we'll see ya'll on the road sometime or on facebook.

Just a reminder about our upcoming ride Saturday, Jan 28th to the Great American Motorcycle Show. We will be meeting at QT at the corner of Hwy 41 and Hwy 92 in Acworth at 9:30. We will be taking Hwy 92 over to the show with a stop at Wendy's for lunch before entering the show. We expect to return to QT about 4:30. Check your e-mail or go to the website for the show for a $1 off coupon for admission. Regular admission price is $12. The weather is expected to be cold in the morning, but warm up nicely during the day. The predicted low of the day at 32 and a high of 59 and be mostly sunny. If it is too cold for you to ride, feel free to bring your 4-wheeler and follow the group. We hope to see everyone there.

Great turn out today and a wonderful ride. The food was fantastic as always and it was obvious that they were glad to see us. For those who didn't make it, we had 20 members and 12 bikes for the ride today. Glad to see everyone come out. Just a reminder about our ride coming up this Sunday, January 15th to the Adairsville Inn Restaurant. This is one of the best buffets I've eaten at anywhere. We will be meeting at QuikTrip on Hwy 41 just North of Cartersville at 11:30. The ride will be about 35 minutes up to Adairsville for lunch and about 35 minutes back. As of right now, the weather forecast will be cool (50 degrees) and clear, so we will be riding. If the temperature is too cool for you, feel free to follow the group in your 4-wheeler or meet us at the restaurant at about 12:30. I hope to see everyone there.

New Year Day Meeting, Charter signing & Good Luck Ride. Chapter 376 Members,
Here is the information on the New Years Day meeting / Charter signing / Good luck ride.

When: Jan 1 2012 from 11AM to 1PM (please be on time as Mike will have much to cover in 2 hours)
I encourage ALL members to come out on Jan 1 for our annual charter signing and good luck ride.
It's important that all members come and participate in the charter signing. We will officially welcome our new President and officers for 2012. Our New President will be introducing your new officers,
his 2012 vision and goals for the chapter and reading the new charter. At that time you will
be able to sign the new charter. Don't forget to bring you STAR membership card as it's required
to sign the charter. We will also be doing our annual Good Luck ride. This will be a short ride around Cartersville and will be around an hour or so long. The only thing that will prevent the ride will be rain or ICE.
I talked to the manager at Ryans and you WILL NOT have to pay for a meal to be a part of the meeting. They
will come into the room where we are having our meeting and ask who will be eating. Those who will eat will be given a
ticket and you will pay for your meal at that time or at the end of the meeting. Again, you do not have to eat if you do
not want to. You do need to identify yourself at the register as STAR Chapter 376 member. I would suggest you ware your
chapter shirts or vests if you have one to quickly identify you as part of the group.
Please, let's have a good showing for this sanctioned event and welcome our new President and Officers for 2012.

Members, The XMas party was great! Had a good time, food was great and white elephant was fun as always. Thanks to all who came today and thanks again to Allen for getting the lodge for our party! Congrats to Louise for winning the 2011 ride of the year!!! Looking forward to seeing a pic of you and your trophy on the website. I also want to thank all the officers as well as web master and all those who helped to make this season a safe and fun riding year. Congrats to Mike V for being elected as the our new Pres and Hal M for VP for 2012. I know they will do a great job for the chapter in 2012.
